Travellin’ Shoes

St. Christopher watch over me this plane I’m on is coming in to land

I’m headed for another round of cheap motels, white lines and one night stands

Every highway looks the same when all you see are headlights in the rain

I’m a little young to settle down and far too old to change my ways

Travellin’ shoes, Travellin’ shoes – once you’ve walked a mile the rest is hard to refuse

And I’ve been up and down that road a time or two

I’ve got a head filled up with songs to sing, I’ve got music flowing through my veins

Instead of going through the motions like I used to they carry me these days

And the best friends that I ever made were strangers when I first passed through their town

So why would I stay in one place when home is any where I lay me down

Travellin’ shoes, Travellin’ shoes – once you’ve walked a mile the rest is hard to refuse

And I’ve been up and down that road a time or two

Travellin’ shoes, travellin’ shoes – once you’ve walked a mile hey what’s another few

I’ve been up and down that road a time or two

And I’ll be gone again, I’m just passing through
